Sailormilan2 Posted July 15, 2006 Report Share Posted July 15, 2006 I was impressed with the Tanker. I had heard so many negatives about them. Only 1 real problem. Every other time I fired it the trigger guard came unlatched. Not good. Switched TGs with another Garand and solved the problem. 56 rounds were fired, 48 were South African surplus. Not the best, but they worked. Only one failure, a stop pipe of a loaded round. Probably need to clip 1 more coil off the spring. I was not having a real good day with any of the Garands and the M1A I took. I guess I need to shoot with iron sights more often. But, I managed to shoot a decent group with it. I think I need to put a NM front sight on, which will help. By the time I shot the second group I was getting hot and so was the rifle. New barrel probably crudded up with copper too.
