5 shots of 175grn Sierras, full-length sized, 49grns Varget, 100yds, 90 degrees no cool down period.

180grn BT 225yds. Could be better. 5 rounds 90 degrees no cool down.

My groups are starting to improve now that I discovered my scope was loose. My Father-in-law smacked his nose and brow and moved it in the rings. Not much bleeding due to rubber ring on ocular.

You've made yourselve a handy and accurate hunting rifle - Very cool. With the loads you've worked-up you can efficiently kill anything in the lower 48. The good thing about that is that you still have Alaska left and MUST build another rifle. I like the stock work too.

Nice rifle usmc0332. It's nice to see good results for the hard work you put into it. The more you shoot it the better you'll get. Varget is becoming a favorite powder of mine also. It's a very versatile powder. If you get a chance to enlarge your powder selection, try imr 4064 or 4895 just for the pure fun of it. There are several powders that work well in this caliber, as you probably already know from your research. You'll never find that "perfect" match to your rifle, without trying. That's the fun part of reloading.

Thanks fellas. This is my present favorite rifle. I look forward to future projects and more favorites. 8x57 is an awesome round. I look forward to hunting with a rifle I worked on and ammo I assembled. Thanks for all of the help.

Nice job.

That is what I have done with a lot of the old Turks. Sure makes a helluva better hunting rifle than that long 29" barrel original.

Keep it up.
