Sailormilan2
I finally managed to tear myself away from some home improvements to take the Tanker Project and a few other guns to the range. This is the second range trip for the Project gun. After the first range trip, I changed stocks. I ordered a refinished one from Numrich, so that I could get all the wood to match. When I put everything together I found a problem. I had initially used the Greek wood pieces for the gun. Unfortunately, the Greeks didn't cut them right. The lower handgaurd was too long, and I had installed the lower band and pin, based on the length of the Greek handgaurd. When I went to install the USGI walnut one, there was a rather large gap between the rear of the handgaurd and the receiver. I also had shortened the short upper handgaurd so that it would fit with everything spaced on the Greek wood. I had to redo the lower band pin groove, and reinstall. I used a new lower band, so I had to grind clearance for the op rod. With out this clearance, the op rod wouldn't move more than 1/2" or so to the rear. I also replaced the standard front sight with a NM front sight to help the sight picture. So far, it seems to shoot just fine. Seems to shoot a better than my M1A. I fired 16 shots, the 1st 4 are just to see where the sights were at after changing the front sight

Sailormilan2
100 yds. Target is a standard 25 yd pistol target with a 5 1/4" bull. Barrel now has about 100 rounds though it.
