rwims Posted August 8, 2006 Report Share Posted August 8, 2006 I recently purchased a remington 700 CDL 243 Win. barrel for my turk project. Can anyone tell me what type of finish Remington puts on these barrels? It doesn't appear to be blued, it almost feels like some kind of coating. I don't have any experience with Duracoat or any thing like that but if that is what it is I would like to do the action to match. odies dad Posted August 9, 2006 Report Share Posted August 9, 2006 It looks and feels like the Teflon in the bottom of a frying pan. I thought about bead blasting the receiver and then bluing it.
