ken98k
Is "carding" done with a soft wire wheel? What is used to "card" the internal parts of a receiver, like the breach area? Any photos?
Guest Guest_z1r_*
I card with steel wool. Be sure to degrease it well first. My buffer did not have enough power to turn the soft wire brush so I went to stell wool even for the outside. It works wonders in the hard to get areas. manureman
Ken I cheat a little and since you only have to card the areas that you swab the rusting solution on I dont put any on or in places that can't/won't be seen unless I can get to them pretty easy with steel wool or steelwool wraped on a small wooden dowel rod.I know thats probably not the right way to do things but I also know some of the South American rifles left the recievers in the white. fritz
I have used a small stainless steel wire brush from Brownell's. It's what they recomended, but I'm sure that steel wool will work too, but degrease it thoroughly. Nothing is worse than a bit of oil in the rust blue process. fritz
