littlecanoe
As a follow-up post I have a few questions about traditional Mannlicher style and am hoping that you guys can bail me out. I have saved pics of other rifles to review for stock style and features but that leaves me a bit short. This rifle will be top feed with only a trigger guard below. The grip cap and butt plate will be skeletonized. I'm not yet sure about all of the hardware but it will likely have traditional sling attachments. My questions concern how thick the wood should be left in a few places. 1. How thick is a traditional stock below the tip of the muzzle? 2. In a blind magazine is it traditional to make it 3 or 5 deep (Carl Gustav action 6.5x55)? 3. How much wood is left in the bottom of the Mag well in a blind magazine? 4. Does the follower and spring just float off the wood at the bottom of the Mag Well? I'll stop the Q's there. I'll likely need to ask more later.
