ken98k
I'm not sure this is the correct place to put this post, but here goes. I finally got a lathe and am getting ready to order tooling. The book says the tool post will hold up to 1/2" bits, should I go 1/4", 5/16" or 3/8" for threading? z1r
I use 5/16 for threading. I like to grind teh bit so that the point is offset way to the left. S oI can get real close to the shoulder. I have to grind much less off the right side on a 5/16 than I would a larger bit. Congrats on the buy! I ended up getting a Grizzly 11 1/2 x 31 combo machine. Kind of a cheapie but it should do everything I need. Kenny
