Kyle
Has anyone chambered a Mauser in 300 Weatherby Magnum? I'm thinking of building one but I'm not sure if the cartridge is to long for the 98 action.
donmarkey
It's too long for a military mauser. You would need to stretch the action. The .300 weatherby has a OAL of a around 3.560. -Don
ken98k
I've got one built by Roy Weatherby in 1946. It was my first ever Mauser and now that I know a "little" about them I don't think I would try to build one. .300 winmag is close to the Weatherby and is a standard length case. cold shot
Hey Kyle, I have built a 300win mag on a vz 24 action. I still had to open the box, open the feed rails. However ,I used a 30 cal throater and gave it more freebore to be able to use the 200 and 220 matchking loads. It's working just fine. With the 180 nosler bt, it is a great pig, black bear and mule deer rifle here in northern Calif. Dave
