Back in the late 60's a friend gave me a couple steaks from a feral Mexican cow that wondered on to the Arizona side during deer season. The steaks were about as close to bone dry shoe leather as they could get. He took most the remaining beef to a game processor and got some of the best jerky I've ever had.
