roscoedoh
CDC says gonorrhea is drug-resistant Get dressed up like the clap doctor and have a gander at this. I know that this situation has gone on for decades, but I'm curious as to what you medical guys think.
Jimro
The problem with antibiotics is their misuse, patients need to follow the prescription all the way to the end instead of stopping when the symptoms go away. I'm not surprised about gonorrhea is now resistant, pretty much the only STD that hasn't shown adaptation to antibiotics is syphilis, which can still be treated by plain old penicillin. The problem with relying on research to create new drugs is that it's like any other investment, uncertain return. The good news is that there are still alternate medications available for treatment. Dr.Hess
Syphilis has shown a huge amount of resistance to PCN. 50 years ago, you only had to wiff a little under their nose to cure it. Today it takes millions of units. Dr.Hess
FC
Heck, I thought all of them had been resistant since the 80's?
