FC
Don, this is what I had posted: Running the board is getting to be more of a chore than a joy at times, and, as evidenced by this intercourse, it's not much fun again. I've written to Layne King, who now runs the big Surplus Rifle board (I think that's the board anyway), and also is "Mosin Specialists" out of TN, and asked him if he'd like to take over. I've offered in the past to let someone take over, and nobody wants the job. Layne is a good man, and I've spent a bit of time with him before in person. What do you folks think? It is your board, after all. I haven't heard back yet from Layne. I'm not into sporterizing anymore, and don't often get to shoot. I do value the relationships here, but don't have to run this place to communicate with people.

karlunity
FC. If I can help, let me know. But this is sort of like the Corps..once a marine always a marine!!! Once a fartingchicken always a farting chicken. Karl
donmarkey
Let me know if I can do anything to lighten the burden. -Don
FC
Well, moving the sporterizing posts to the archives (if they deserve to go there) is the big thing. I'll have to see if you're deputized. Tanglewood- you too? The latest fight we had about did me in. Sometimes I get tired too. Not like you can REALLY take a break- sort of like farming or ranching. Ron J
Me also, oh great gaseous one. I'll help do stuff, but fair warning. You'll want to pass the grunt work my way. Archiving, paying bills and that stuff I could be taught. But running the computer end...well this thing would resmble a pregnant pole-vaulter before long. Also, one other condition. You can't leave. Take a break, bum around in your stang for a month, whatever. But do not leave the institution you so cleverly crafted. Ron
roscoedoh
Tony, Is running the sight anything that requires high speed Internet access? -Jason
FC
Walnut, I'll get you on there. Thanks. Here is what I wrote Don Markey. Moving topics: What I do is go to the last page of the Sporterizing Forum and open up topics and see if they are worth saving. If they are not, I delete them. If they are decent, I go to the bottom left, click the drop-down box, select move, don't save a link, and move them to the archives, or wherever they fit best. I don't have to verify each new member anymore, so that chore is gone. The other chore I have, that I can't delegate, is paying the bills, and updating the board. I wish I could delegate those, but I can't unless I just gave up my name somehow to Blue Host and Invision.
fritz
Tony, If there is a need for money to pay the bills, just let me know, and I will pay them. I still have a little left over after buying the new tractor for mrs fritz. After all, it is the least I can do for someone who has put up with me for so long without banning me (like whatshisname did). As to the rest of your duties, I am not able to help. But let me know, by PM or email, if you need financial help. I will do it. fritz
karlunity
Pass the hat this way. I am not a software guru but I can kick in some bucks. karl

I can't remember, but maybe January is the Blue Host $225 or so renewal. We are good till then. Thanks for your generosity in the past. One morning I'll practice archiving. I love reading the older posts so I'm game.

roscoedoh
Tony, If the job doesn't require a high speed connection, I'd be happy to lend a hand around here if you need me to. I'm usually on everyday anyway so might as well put my time spent here to good use. I'll be around if you need me. Jason
