swamprat
I posted pics in firearm restoration about making a main spring for this little pistol. Here it is with Astra grips. I don't think I'm going to do a reblue. I have spent a lot of time removing the rust from this orphan and really like the well used look it has now. just click the link . http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa245/s...21/IM000816.jpg http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa245/s...21/IM000815.jpg All numbers match throuh out the pistol (except for hand made spring). The circle at the rear of reciever in first pic says HOPE. The barrel is marked the same at port opening in slide. This little piece has seen 2 World Wars, Korea, Nam, And all the Sand Wars to date and that is just the US history. Swamprat
Doble Troble
Cute! I wouldn't refinish it either. That would be a lot of work just to remove the character it took 100 yrs to build. I would make sure it functioned well, and then I'd put lead slugs through it until the bore shined again! That's about the only thing that should be shiny on that little vet.
