hylander
So I took my new 03A3 apart to clean the Stock and put a couple coats of Formsby oil on it and found a crack at the recoil lug area. As far as repairing I'm thinking drill about four holes right in the middle of the crack and Acraglas Gelling it. What do you guys think ? roscoedoh
If there is not already, I'd install a cross bolt. Then I would apply the Acragel treatment.
hylander
There is a pin that goes through the stock, I guess where a Cross Bolt would go. Can I remove the pin and install a Cross Bolt ?
roscoedoh
Is this Lee-Enfield forearm? I don't see why you couldn't drift out the pin and install a cross bolt. The one thing to bear in mind is that pin may be what's keeping this stock together right now. Thread with caution.

hylander
Here is what I did. Basically I bedded it with Acraglass Gel. Drilled some holes to create a Mechanical Lock. It has a screw that is already installed in the place where a Cross Bolt would be so I think it should be fine as long as my bedding job comes out OK. I could not add another screw because the one in there was only about 1/4" down.
z1r
That will probably do but I'd add a couple of divots to the sides of the stock next to the recoil "lug". I'm sure it will do the trick. Pics when done please.
hylander
First stage of bedding. I need to get more acraglass before I can do the final stage
