karlunity
Fellas. I was at the range with a Colt 1860. A bit of copper from one of the percussion caps somehow found its way into in the firing mechanism and prevented hammer from locking or going into half cock. I was about to take it apart when the little bit of copper cap fell out. If this happens to you, check for bits of cap before you mail the revolver back to Italy. : ) karl
z1r
Karl, I was told it was a good idea to raise the muzzle when cocking so that any refuse such as you mentioned will fall away from the inner workins of the action. I wouldn't raise it so high thatthe range master has a coronary but you get the idea.
