New Old Gun To Restore

Horsefly

Recommended Posts

Cat I work with gave me an old Remington rolling block for working on his guns for the last 20 years, and I about passed out when he insisted I take it.I never charged him for any work I done except for the parts, but he always slipped a 18 or 30 pak in my pickup, and gave me a bunch of guns missing hard to find parts that he bought at a gunshop auction.

The rifle is an export, and probably .43 cal.The buttstock is sound and will clean up nicely, but the forearm is rougher than a woodhaulers arse. The action is strong and fairly clean, but someone has sanded on it,and it'll need bluing or browning, whatever was original. It would look nice over my fireplace, but my wife would rather see it up my patooty.
