One - called "The Friends of The Border Patrol" - was being picketed at a recruiting rally. The crazy part is that while this (and others refered to in the report) are strongly in favor of regulating immigration, most of the protesters seemed to be WHITE folks complete with signs reading "RACISTS GO HOME". These hispanic leaders spoke eloquently about the problems of observation of laws, being responsible citizens, and simply doing what's right, the protesters - people who are affected most by the circumventing of our laws - didn't seem to care about these cornerstones of our society. What is wrong with this picture? What is wrong with these people? This is simply nuts! I am NOT a racist. I do recognize real threats to our way of life and our social structure though - regardless of the enthicity, sex, etc. of those involved. Why must folks make every issue about "discrimination" (can you say N-e-w O-r-l-e-a-n-s)? I'm sick of this finger pointing and blame placing while the real problems continue to spiral out of control for fear of offending anybody other than white Americans. Texas, where we have the big problem with them. All the hispanics here ask me, "What do you have against hispanics?" It's getting too hard to get the message across to most hispanics that these illegals are hurting them as much (or more so) than me. As to what is wrong here? It's a political football, and the games last all year (no season). There was an article in my paper today that said that illegal immigration, despite tighter border security, is increasing at a dramatic pace. Guest MorgansBoss Posted September 29, 2005 Report Share Posted September 29, 2005 Wish I'd paid more attention, but there really were these people - at least two guys and a woman - from three different organizations all of whom were hispanics speaking out against illegals. Mind you they didn't say anything aginst immigration - legal immigration - just illegal immigration. Their arguments were awefully close to what you're saying Fritz so maybe you are making some headway. Or at least (as we all ready know of course) there are some hispanics in this country who recognize and want to do what's right and best for all. It was just good to see them getting some of the publicity for a change. Then again, I had the 24/7 news playing all day while I worked in the house and didn't see that segment again. No doubt a flood of outraged emails and calls got it pulled. It just floored me that it was mostly WHITES calling these people racisits! And the schitts is that these brain-dead people VOTE, unlike many of the so-called needy (deadbeats, in many cases) And the voting place is shamefully ignored by so many who have so much at stake. After all, the government will take care of you whether you vote or not. So many people have lost all concept of what government was created for. Kruschev was right, he didn't have to fight to concur us (US) we're doing it ourselves. Even as the major communist countries embrace western style, free market practices we are likewise becoming more and more socialist with government handouts to everyone from illegals to our own home-grown leaches, government mandated wages and benefits from private employers, and working people being penalized (taxed disproportionately) for making good! My biggest pet peeve though is the so-called freedom of the press. A right intended to assure the government didn't orchestrate the people's available information. Today it has been twisted into the media's right to selectively "report" whatever they feel like, truth be damned... precisely what it was intended to prevent only the framers never expected the slant would come FROM the "free press."
