cajunman2205
Where can I find a barrel threaded and short chambered for 8MM Mauser. I would like to replace the barrel on my YUGO M48 and would like a sporter contour.

cajunman2205
I couldn't find anything there. 8MM isn't popular enough I guess.
AzRednek
Try Sporter Express. If you're desperate enough the custom barrel makers will make one but you better have your check book handy. If I remember correctly Mcgowen had 8MM listed in their catalog. Don't know if it has changed since McGowen changed ownership.
Uncle Grinch
E.R. Shaw has them. Try... http://www.ershawbarrels.com
ken98k
I couldn't find anything there. 8MM isn't popular enough I guess. They used to have them in their A&B line up. I checked brownells and they don't list them either. I guess ER Shaw would be the next low cost choice.
cajunman2205
Numrich sells 8MM stepped barrels in the white for $99. I may go with this one. I would go with .308 but I love odd ball calibers. I don't like running with the pack.
Spiris
cajunman2205, If you have a standard M48 bolt, the barrel will need extra cuts in it for the H ring and the extractor. It has what is called a safety breach and does require a bit more machining then regular Mausers. Good luck on the rebarrel. Spiris
cajunman2205
I may add the notch or just stone stone the extractor back. I've read of people doing both.
ken98k
Clemson did a nice tutorial on rebarreling the yugos a couple years ago. I'll bet it's in the archives somewhere.
