.400 Whelen

Years ago, late 70's or early 80's friend of mine did a 400 Whelen. He had a bit of headspace problems on the initial fire-forming but after that it worked just fine. Been to many years to remember the exact cost but the custom dies were very expensive. He died a few years ago, Don't know if he still had the 400 Whelen rifle and passed it in to his daughter.

What I get from reading the article is that the many of the dies did not match the chamber reamers and the shoulders were resized too small.

With a proper die/chamber combination, headspace problems are nonexistant.
