Brenden
Gentlemen, For my graduation gift from my parents, I was told to go on gunbroker and buy a savage to use for my barrel swap project. I did just that, ended up with a good looking 30-06 with a synthetic stock. Now, here is my dilemma. I've long wanted a 9.3x62. I don't need it, but I want it. I've got some nosler 250 gr accubonds setting in front of me and they look pretty good. The barrel is within my reach. Before I buy this barrel, I need to know a few things. What is the recoil like? I'm used to recoil, I have a 7mag and my hand loads from the 338-06 are stout to say the least, but I would like to know if it is on par with the 338-06. Do you feel this is a decent choice (other barrels will follow, say a 6.5-06 but just wondering) Do they make good large game guns within a respectable distance? That’s all for now. Thanks! ken98k
recoil is very close to 338-06. The 338-06 will likely be a better longrange shooter but the 9.3 is famous as a big game stopper. 9.3 has more knock down power than 338-06 but slightly less than a 338winmag. 338-06 = 338x63 9.3x62 = 366x62
