brokengun
Found this interesting link to a story where a man buried a gun and ammo for 15 yrs without a problem. He said he used an oil to coat his guns but it sounded like Cosmoline to me and he nitrogen flushed his storage tube with nitrogen but I don’t know why oxygen absorbers won’t do the same job. Mylar bags are easy to find. You can buy them direct from a supplier like Sorbent Systems online now days with out going through a middleman. P.S. oxygen absorbers are also sold as chemical hand warmers http://www.backwoodshome.com/articles2/wood115.html
FC
That's pretty neat. He was like a squirrel hiding its nuts.
99-100
I've come across things the Army packaged decades earlier that could have been made the day before. A sealed container is paramount followed closely by ensuring it's clean and well coated/lubricated. I suspect being wrapped in cotton cloth (old t-shirts) impregnated with wheel bearing grease would do a good job of keeping air away.
