rdm1962
The largest local gun show was this weekend. I couldn't get there until this afternoon. About 2 hours before closing. At the end of the last day is deal time so that's when I usually go. Anyway I saw a lot of waaaaay over-priced stuff. There were a few nice thing but nothing that would fit my needs. And then. A private seller was looking to sell a mix-master 24-47. It wouldn't close on a field gauge. The trigger guard and floor plate are stamped from a 48A. All bands are milled. The bore is strong and not pitted. The condition of the action is really good. Someone had a sporter bolt handle welded on. I paid $130.00 for it. The last time Clemson welded a bolt handle for me it was $120.00 and $16.75 shipping. So thinking like my wife, I got a free rifle and saved $6.75 on a bolt job. This one may end up as my "retro sporter" in-stead of my FN.
Clemson
Good score, Ralph! Now you will have plenty of funds left over for the rebarrel, drill and tap job, etc.!! Clemson
