Hi, like the heading says. I have a sporterized 1917 & it wasn`t done by bubba either. Would like your opinion weather the barrel is original or an after market sporter one? It `s 23 1/2" L from receiver joint to end. Only marks are on underside of it 14" down from receiver which is a circle with a triangle in it with a circle in the triangle & an oval with VP inside it. At the rec-bar joint there is a witness punch mark. On the right side of the receiver under the chamber there is a long oval with CNS inside it, what does that mean? Thanks in advance.

The marks on the barrel are "proof marks" which means the rifle has been fired with high pressure test rounds to check the integrity. After market barrel wont have these marks.
