FC
I just had an idea for you all to mull over. Maybe we should hold a work shop at someone's garage? Bring your projects and have one of our experienced guys help you learn how to sporterize a milsurp.
donmarkey
Unfortunatly I don't think there are that many of us that live close together. I am always willing to help out anyone in my area (SE Michigan) if they need it though. Don
FC
I flew to a get together in TN once. I don't know, some folks might not mind a vacation from the job and kids.
ken98k
The guys that are into AK47s do this quite a lot, "build parties" they call them.
lemski4
I'd be willing to help and work with someone in south central Ks.
Ironnewt
My issue with ithis idea is the cost to get to the "garage" and then what ever lodging food, incidentals that would come up. If it's close it's a great idea, if it's more than reasonable driving distance, you will really end up jacking up the final cost of your project rifle. Clemson
If enough of you could make it to Greenwood, SC, I would be happy to have you out to my shop. We could also take a side trip to Piedmont Technical College to see the gunsmithing school there. It is about 10 minutes from the shop. FC
Greenwood, you know what? I've been through there several times. Yeah, the cost goes up, but what's it worth to you to meet the guys on the board? Depends on your funds, and what that experience would be worth to you.
