jwolf4
I decided that I want to put a scope on one of two sporterized Mausers, but I don't know which would be a better choice. The first Mauser has an all-matching bolt, a very nice blued finish, and a 23 inch barrel that was contoured. The second Mauser is an all matching rifle except for the stock, has about a 80% finish to it, and a 21 inch military stepped barrel. Neither have a rear sight base. This rifle would mainly be used for hunting, so I was leaning towards #2 without the great finish. But, I also want to take advantage of the most accurate rifle which I believe may be #1. Should I just shoot them side-by-side and scope which ever one is more accurate or have you guys already decided on what you think I should do? A parkerized finish may be in store for #2 so that it wouldn't matter if it got dropped or scratched in the woods.
pacrat
Since both are sporterized and as such have no collector value. D&T both then you can check accuracy on both with a scope and leave scope on best of 2 for the long shots. JM2c
Clemson
I agree -- scope 'em both. Clemson
