Anyone know the what's going on over there? I know Ted's daughter Maggie is sick and they've shut down over there, but they billed my credit card for parts I never received. They were made wrong and were supposed to be remade over 6 months ago. I've called a number of times and can't get any reponse. It's getting to the point that I'm going to have to file a credit card fruad complaint to get reinbursed. I hate to do that in the middle of they're family tradgady. But I'm running out of options. Jason, I just use one ss tank (welded from a bottle tb from the local bar) and a camp stove. The chemicals I use only require 190 deg temp, so no problem with solders. -Don sonic, here's a pic of the color.

If the extractor is worn it can creep forward, this might be the contact you are experancing. -Don

Wisners has magnum followers. LA rem 700 followers work also. The ejector are different because the 303 is a rimmed cartridge. If you're converting calibers I'd use a 1917 ejector. The mag boxed are sized for shell length, 303 being the shortest. I've got a rem 700 follower in one my p14's with a long magnum box from numrich. It fit perfectly. -Don

I got a VZ24 project mauser in a parts lot I bought. After farther inspection I found out that the magazine and receiver was opened up to 3.56in. It has a mag bolt that's properly notched to the receiver and a 7mm rem mag barrel. The receiver opening measures 3.78in and an unaltered vz24 measures 3.47in. So it's been opened up .31 towards the front. This is just shy of a long magnums dimensions. The thing feeds beautifly and is in overall good shape, I'd hate to scrap it, but if it'd be unsafe I will. I would have it reheat treated if kept. Any thoughts? -Don

Anyone ever work with them? After rough milling the ears off of a p14 enfield and squaring it up, I layed a straightedge arcoss it and noticed the rear was still about a 1/8" higher than the front ring. That got me thinking of custom options, I was originally planning to just recontour the rear bridge to the same height and radias as the front ring. Any Ideas? -Don

Numrich parts for 1917's are listed under us military, not enfield I ordered a 1917 bolt stop and perch from them for a p14. The only difference between the 14 and 17 is the perch. Then 17's look nicer, both work. Numrich lists parts by manufarture because if you are restoring a rifle you don't want a part marked E on a winchester. All the parts between 1917's and P14 are interchangeable except for the bolt group. If you need to do minor fitting, it's because of varying manufactors tolorances. The p14 follower is also shorter, size the follower by the cartridge you intend to use, magnum mauser followers work well in long mag's. -Don

Generally not, the case hardening isn't that thick. Enco sells carbide drills also, alot cheaper. So will any machine shop supply. -Don

I might be the odd one, but I like the cock on closing action. I have a storterized winchester 1917 made in the 70's and 2 p14 actions. One's getting turned into a 300 weatherby and the other is probably going to end up on the top shelf, tucked away for a unknown future project. -Don

Brownells sells bold triggers also. I have had a couple that wouldn't adjust properly, but boyd's did replace them. -Don
