  1. Reading this makes me want to puke. Made me imagine the sound of a spent '06 round hitting the floor
  2. That was exactly my thought
  3. Dang, Mike that looks great! Been just lurking here & its nice to see a familiar face Here's the only small ring bolt i have on the bench
  4. Horsefly How long and what profile of barrel do you want? Do you have the ability to re-thread a large ring?
  5. Consider using minwax antique oil. You will get beautiful oil finish that is polymerized to make it more durable. That sure looks to be English walnut
  6. The magazine fit securely in the guard. My only reason for selling it was after a year of searching, I could not locate a spare magazine.
  7. Looks like the one I sold on Ebay last year
  8. I talked to salvage33 and it is my understanding that the party responsible for paying the host is AWOL. The administrator is working on it and it will be up and running asap
  9. That particular trigger guard is for the PH rifle built 98 Mauser action. It is clearly marked 98/124
  10. I am shooting fmoderately low pressure 1/2 MOA loads in a couple of highly custom Husqvarna 96s. They both have re-contoured to sporter barrels. One was a new 23 1/2" m38 replacement (2960 fps)and the other was a retired 25" Krieger F class barrel (3040 fps) 52gr. 4831SC has been the best powder in both with the lighter 130 accubond bullets. I use this weight as the biggest critter to kill here is whitetail and they are overkill for them. The 'yote was dumb enough to follow my son in law who was bloodied from hunting the day before to his deer stand. When the sun came up he "rugged" him with the 6.5 AI. Dave
  11. Brenden, My "go to" is the 6,5x55 Ackley Improved. They are ultra-accurate, low recoil and even with 130 accubonds will bore a hole through both shoulders of a whitetail buck at 400 yds. As for yotes, pretty hard on them too! Dave
