MarkTX
Just finshed lapping lugs' fitting saftey, drilling and tapping for scope mount and fitting bolt handle in stock. I'm redy to set the barrel and read the post in "Barrels" on how much torque to use. have reamer handle on the way and was wondering what the technique is to finish ream. hope ya'll can help me out . donmarkey
Go slow. Check often. Use lot of oil. Never turn the reamer backwards, always turn when competing the cut and backing off. If your reamer squeaks, it's too dry. And alway fully clean the chamber of all oil and chips, (preferably with air)before checking progress with your guages. One chip and you'll get a false reading, then you'll be pulling the barrel back off and turning down the shoulders to correct the headspace. I'm sure I left out a lot be others will chime in. -Don
Doble Troble
then you'll be pulling the barrel back off and turning down the shoulders to correct the headspace. I hate it when that happens!
