It doesn't look like bolt mods are required, and seems to have more oomph than the 8 x 57. Making cases might be a downside. Bulged bases make me nervous. I think a 8x68s would be just as nostalgic without worrying about locating brass. And yes, I cringed too when I saw that bulged '06 case. Gothmog Posted July 13, 2005 Report Share Posted July 13, 2005 As a matter of interest, I believe an outfit called Marstar (in Canada) has a ton of 8x63 ammo they are selling off at component prices ... not sure how easy it might be to get into the US, though.
