welcome to the group..yes you have many options..if you are interested in restoration good used barrels can be found..what are you thinking of doing to this rifle?

is this some thing your wanting to do your self ? armed with the right tools and some carefull reading ...and input from some of the people here..you could do it your self...but a word of warning after doing so you will become addicted ..and then this will lead to more projects..

Allow me to welcome you as well.

The more that you can tell us of what you'd like to do with your VZ

the more that we can help you.

Do you want to keep it in its original military configuration and 8MM caliber?

Would you like to keep the original look and change caliber, there are 30-06

barrels that have the same steps as the 8MM?

Are you interested in going a full sporterization?

How much are you equipped to do or how much do you want to do for yourself?

Congratulations!!! you have one of the most desirable actions to work with and

you've found the best place to help you along.

Tinker

P. S.

Your options with a VZ24 range from just about any standard caliber up to any magnum

that can be made to feed. There are a few magnums that are too long but there are many

that can work fine. To name a few popular ones 7MM, 300 win, 308norma, 338 win .

Welcome.

It may not be as bad worn out barrel.

If it shoots a group more like a shot-gun, it may just be a worn down muzzle.

Most Vz-24's I have seen just needed a counter-bore and re-crown to restore them.

Welcome again

Karl

Ignore what all these guys said. It is junk so send it to me for proper disposal. :P

Seriously the VZ24 is a great receiver for a sporter project if you aren't set on keeping it in origional configuration.

Welcome aboard....

There are some people here who are willing to help, depending on time

and distance. There are a number of gun smiths used by most at one

time or another. Our own Z1R, depending on how much he has recovered

from his move.
