slednerd
Who was it that was looking for some? I can't find the post. Was that on another board? Oh well... I don't have a C&R, and anyway, I don't want to buy whole rifles, just interested in sporterized mausers right now. But, my FFL guy doesn't mess with Sarco, and I'm not sure if he'd mess with anyone else, besides which I can't even find most of those guys inventory without an FFL on file. I just want a few junkers to mess with, and maybe a barrel or two...any ideas? thanks, John
donmarkey
Where are you located? I have a few you might be interested in, but I'd need a ffl or at least a c+r to send them to if it's not face to face. Maybe someone else can help you out in the receiving end. I have plenty of tomato stake barrels too. Some receivers are unsafe to shoot but are good to learn stuff like drilling tapping on. Predrilled wrong but I could weld them up, but they are still unsafe. -Don

Just my 2 cents Kenny That's why I stamped "unsafe" on it about 10 times and I'd still probably drill a huge hole in it or section it before letting it out of my sight. -Don

slednerd
That'll work! Now wait a minute! Part of why I want some is to practice polishing! You guys gonna make my life tough! Donmarkey, holding two pieces of smoking slag; "You think that ruined it?" KAR98K "Naw dude, that'll buff right out..." Seriously, why anyone would want to sporterize some of the stuff I've seen for sale just since I started looking last year confuses me... I keep finding what seem like good deals to me on partially or fully sported mausers ($300 range), and just have to walk away, 'cause I keep hearing my wife say "how many do you need?!", and I know next month I'll find another calling my name. Don, I'm in alaska (I thought it was in my profile, but I'll go look now). My FFL guy would receive anything I wanted sent to him, but like I said, he's not going shopping for me, and I can't see anyones stuff other than SARCO without an FFL. It's a generous offer, and I may take you up on it. Sonic...I don't want a C&R, it's not supposed to work for actions or sporterized guns, which is what I'm interested in. I don't wanna hack something decent and original. If it's already been messed with, sure, but then it's not C&R...just my opinion. Thanks, guys, John

bert01
practice recievers the brazilian list for $10.00, the Argentine and the Chinese for $15.00. they might make good practice, i've been thinking about getting some myself.
z1r
Look at the classifieds. there is a link to a guy on gunbroker who sells mausers sported by kimber. he also sells some of their screw ups. Perfect for practice.
slednerd
Mike, that guy no longer has anything listed...did he sell them all?! I did find the closed auction for the one with the bent rails...OMG! Bert, those look possible. If I don't get that VZ24 I just made on offer on (yeah, another one...), I may try to score a couple of those. Which one would be better, if you were gonna use it, the argie or the brazillian (that chinese stuff scares me...). John Edited for stupidity... bert01
I dont know, but i would like to. It would be nice to have something that if it turned out nice you could build a low pressure or cast bullet gun out of.
