724wd
I've shot a couple of bears, but this is my first "black" bear. the others have all been color phase brown/blonde. not a monster, but pretty good for the area. shot him at less than 15 yards running at me. Rojelio
Congratulations! Black bear is on my bucket list. Maybe in the next few years. I think a bearskin rug would look nice. Roger
8uck5nort
Wow, running towards you! That would have got my adrenaline pumping. Congrats. That is also on my bucket list. I've never seen a bear in the wild. I may be able to do it in Michigan one of these days.
Brenden
Well done. I've been looking to shoot one with a bow. WV has a state wide bow season for bear, I've only seen one in season thus far. Whats the weight if you were going to guess Heath? Looks to be a pretty good one. Did you have to scrape the $h** out of your pants afterwards? Brenden
724wd
i'd say he was about 150# on the hoof. not a monster, but a couple years old. i will admit to being nervous when he rolled within 15 feet... but the raspy breathing and lack of movement was reasurring (though not as reassuring as when he STOPPED breathing!)
