Guest Eddie
Hello All, I'm new here and to the world of sporterizing. I'll soon be buying back my 24/47, and am contemplating sporterizing it. I've been searching around the net for a while now, and one thing has me puzzled: how do you cut the notch for the yguo extractor? I don't have access to a lathe or cnc machine.. and I doubt highly, I could get a nice clean cut with a dreml :-P I've read that you can use the bolt from a 1903 Turk, but I'm looking at paying $120 and up for one of those. Anyone else do a 24/47 conversion before? Thanks
donmarkey
The extactor cut is no problem with a hand file, it is the safety breech cut that needs to be done on a lathe. Actually if you buy a blank not a prethreaded barrel and pay a smith to install it you won't be out as much as you think. Don
