8uck5nort
Arrowed this buck yesterday evening. Nice 8 pointer. Clean heart shot at 15 yards. Deer went maybe 40 yards stopped, wobbled and dropped. Field dressed out at 180 lbs at the check in station with estimated live wieght of 215 to 230 lbs. A lot of fat reserves still in buck, but the neck was just beginning to swell so the rut is on in Northern Indiana. This was the third buck I had shot this season, but the first I have managed to bring down and recover. Shot a doe two weekeneds ago and did not recover her either. It had been a pretty rough bow season until now. Got two weeks til gun opener. Hope to post a few more picks of tastey deer brought down with some old rifles! Good luck to all, Darin
