50of4064
Does anyone know of a floor plate conversion that would allow the standard Remington 700 detachable magazines to be used?
tinkerfive
a detachable magazine exists for the Mauser. I don't know of an adaptation to use a Remington magazine T
donmarkey
Problem is the with a detactable mag the feed lips are part of the magazine not the rifle so you either have to go with a single stack magazine such as the gibbs or mill out the feed rails in the receiver wide enough to accept the wider staggered stack magazine. If I remember right the model 700s have different receivers and can't be swapped between the DMs and the BDL/ADL. Don
gun nutty
What cartridge are you trying to have the removable mag for?
50of4064
What cartridge are you trying to have the removable mag for? Sorry for the long delay, but I was thinking of my .
gun nutty
Ya know, the Remington 788 .308 has a single-stack, 3-round magazine: http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Detail.aspx?pid=723530&catid=4346 http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/remington-788-3-rd-magazine.aspx?a=408001 You might be able to make U-channel guides (roll pins at the tops for stops?) for the fore and aft of the Mauser magazine. Biggest issue would be the release. Not very "Rambo", but do-able.
gun nutty
Looking more at the 788 Mag, the stops aren't at the top; the magazine stop is at the bottom. Very simple.
