cavebehr
I know a guy who says he did, but has anyone else? Obviously that's how trigger guards were made in the old days. What materials should I use?

donmarkey
1018, easy or hard depends on what kind of guard. Usually cheaper to buy one if the type you want is available. Don
mp6.5
How "Old Days"? In the Kentucky Rifles they were cast of Brass. A pattern was carved of wood and sand cast. Then everything you didn't want was filed away. At the same time frame for working guns and "Poor Boys" they were fabricated from sheet Iron and Soldered together. Then of course the very High End firearms Bone or Horn was Bent and Carved. Those Items were soaked in Vinegar, but not too long mind you. So what do you want to accomplish and what would you like it to look like? When you decide, there is likely someone here who can help you. Nothing is too silly if it comes out looking like what you want. There might be easier ways if you put more thought into it, but it won't be silly. cavebehr
I was going to use steel and bend and file it to a proper shape.
mp6.5
Mapp Gas and Low temp Silver Solder. Unless you are good at it, work on it when you feel like working on it or it will end up in the Dust Bin.
