Clayton,

You deserve a HUGE pat on the back. I was in your shoes 3 years ago. Hated school, hated life in general. Dated a girl for 2.5 years and knew i had to do something to support her and a family one day ( i was engaged, don't ever do that!) we split, and there i stood, wtf do i do? I did something for myself, started college, threatned to drop out about every week but 3 years later i'm even closer to that Envirnomental Science degree that i ever thought possible. You've done great, and dream big if your going to, the sky is the limit. Your doing right by putting yourself with other educated bound students, there is nothing wrong with roughnecks, hell i've been there, but if your around people with no ambition to get out and go to school, you begin to think just like them (i've been there as well). (i'm not putting down anybody that doesn't have a degree please understand) Guns are great, and i too dream of building custom guns, and one can do it. Maybe not on a large scale such as remengton or sako, but for myself and my hunting buds. Congrads againg, this is one of the best post i've read thus far.

Got a question for those of you who like the socialist- why the heck don't you send me a link to articles showing Biden's buffoonery or Obama's drug history, Marxist buddies, pro-abortion, pro-socialist stances? Why? Heck if I know!

I'll say it again, if you know who Obama is you are NOT a patriot, and you are NOT a Christian. He does NOT love America, he loves socialism, Marxism, and the Black Liberation movement. But you and Flaco don't care, do you?

The hatred for George Bush is all some can handle at one time.Clear thinking is shot all too hell.I work with a lady thats been married a bunch of times, and every time she starts hating the newest husband, she jumps in bed with the next guy that say's the right thing, and starts the process over.Obomba is for change.I sure hope he doesn't change my life.I'm very happy with how it's been going the last 8 years. If it weren't for the democrats blowing the mortgage industry all to hell, everything would be perfect in my world. Please do not vote for a write in or anything other than a Republican or Democrat.

I am not really telling who to vote for but dont waste your vote .

Like when Ross Perot ran , he handed the election both times to Clinton because Clinto never recieved the popular vote,

Ross had more chance to get in than any one we have running 3rd party today.

You will hand the election to someone else if you vote for a write in.

They dont have a snowballs chance in hell of winning.

As crooked as this election is going to be , we still need to stick by our guns.

Food for thought

flaco,

If my fellow contributors actually read newspapers, they'd know that the lead Federal Investigator in the Weathermen case went to the trouble to write the "New York Times".

That's called a sideways insult.

Next time insult me by name, and do it proper you commie.

Allow me to point out the stupidity of your sideways insult, your "if/then" statement is based on the premise that every newspaper prints the same letters to the editor as the NYT. This is demonstrably not the case.

The moment that letter was published it was commented upon and referenced by no less than two blogs that I read regularly. So even though I do not read fish wrappers I still benefit from what little "news" comes through that stale media.

Perhaps 60 years ago the Times was worth reading. I don't know for sure.

But I do know that as far back as 68 the only thing worth reading in the Times was the Sunday Book Review.

As far as reading news papers, when they start again printing straight news, you know the "5 Ws," and leave the opinion to the op-page , I Will read them again.

flaco, That's called a sideways insult.

no it's not. it's a compliment. newspapers are for suckers who like biased drivel. that, and a few folks use them to stay on top of local events.

the op ed page, of course, is not about local events, but indoctrination. most big paper editors are hopelessly liberal. why would I give a rat's ass what they say, care, or feel? they aren't listening to me, why should I listen to them? the letters to editors are rife with misinformation and misdirection. for instance, the prosecutor mentioned above did not disclose his bias.

uncritical readers might be tempted to take the prosecutor's word that obama is not a terrorist. well gosh if the guy who prosecuted ayers says it's so, it must be true! it IS in the NYT! however, people who are not constrained to newspapers can do a little research and discover that the prosecutor is a biased obama supporter who avoided the real issue by repeating obama's misdirection tactics. so the letter was not written by a prosecutor, but an obama supporter. gosh maybe the letter is not true! ouch my head hurts!

I listened for about 60 seconds.

I quit for the same reason that I quit listening to our local

conservative talk show.

It's 'preaching to the choir'.

I know that liberalism is bad and liberals if not bad are at least misguided.

When did the Democratic party get taken over by the liberals anyway???

Was Kennedy a liberal? I mean John, we all know that Ted is.

I was just in 3rd grade when John was shot so I don't know any earlier

Democrats. I thought the Democratic party was much more conservative at that time.

Maybe I was just too young to recognize the liberalism.

Anyone have any insight???

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago,

you would have $49.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in AIG one year ago, you

would have $33.00 today.

If you had purchased $1,000 of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago,

you would have $0.00 today.

But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all

the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund, you

would have received $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment plan is to drink

heavily & recycle. It is called the 401-Keg.

A recent study found that the average American walks about 900 miles a

year. Another study found that Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons

of alcohol a year. That means that, on average, Americans get about 41

miles to the gallon!

Makes you proud to be an American!

Till about 1965 the Dem's were the party of the "working class" that is their main focus was on lunch pail issues:

Social security, jobs, unions. The Dem's were as good Americans as the GOP, in fact, the proud motto of Congress was "politics stop at the water's edge".

The shift started with the "Civil Rights movement" and LBJ.

The Civil Rights movement started under the GOP, Eisenhower, but JFK took the ideal away in the election of 1960 and LBJ signed the "Civil Rights Act' in 64 and THIS led to the "Great Security". The New Left took over the Party in 68 and just never let it go. Most of the leaders of the Democrats now are old hippies, the bad type, and most of what would have been the working class, most of the old blue collar jobs are gone to China are independent or vote for the GOP.

A parody on why we should elect Democrats:

“I think the government will do a better job of spending my money than I could. When we pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq, I know the Islamic terrorists will stop trying to kill us. I believe people who can’t tell us if it will rain in two or three days can now tell us the polar ice caps will disappear in a century if we don’t comply with Orwellian government economic oversight. English has no place being the official language in America. I’d rather pay $4 for a gallon of gas than allow drilling for oil off the coasts of America or in that vast Alaskan wasteland, ANWR. ‘Big Oil’s’ five-percent profit on a gallon of gas is obscene, but the government tax of 18 to 35 percent on the same gallon of gas is just fine. I believe businesses in America should not be allowed to make profit—it should be confiscated by the government so politicians and bureaucrats can redistribute that profit as they see fit. I believe guns cause crimes and murder, not the sociopaths using them, and, thus, should be confiscated. Besides, when someone threatens my family, I know the government can respond faster with a call to 911 than I can with a gun in my hand. It’s a right to kill millions of babies while objecting to the death penalty for murderers. I believe five elitist liberal judges should rewrite the Constitution by diktat to suit Leftist agendas that could never pass proper amendment.”

My new signature is an excerpt from the broadcast.

Don't know how to respond FC.

Now that I am a liberal, I shall have to form a committee, take a poll, have a focus group comment and, by the way ,get a grant to pay for my INTERNET fees...Once a decision have been made, I will know how to respond in a manner that will encourage diversity and inclusiveness.

I was actually a bit displeased with the article. What the reporter neglected to mention was that the boys raised over $2,000 for the breast cancer center here in town and did it all through event sponorship, T-shirt sales, and private donations.

What's even more impressive (for me at least) is that they've accomplished all this with only 6 actives and 5 pledges. Not too shabby all things considering...

Needless to say, I'm proud of them.

I'm just thinking as I go here, but I do not think the problem with Obama is necessarily any of those that have been put forth. This is off the top of my head, I have not heard or seen anyone else put this forth, but I believe the problem with O is that he is the adult child of at least one alcoholic.

He is not for change, he is the changling, having learned at a very young age to adapt to whatever situation the alcoholic parent put him in. Additionally, he learned to alter his view points depending on the mood or disposition of the person in authority he was in front of. Charming and glib but completely devoid of integrity, he will spout what he believes will gain him acceptance at the moment.

He may not be racist, but if his racist pastor promotes racism, he is not going to disagree. He may not be for gun control, but if his handlers are, he is going to do what pleases them and gains him a modicum of acceptance and what he interprets as love.

I have to think about this more, but if I am even a smidgen correct, how are we going to fare as he sells us out to gain acceptance by world leaders? Not well I venture, and if I am right, this is even more scary than if he really was a racist, Marxist etc.. LL
